  GearDictate makes dictation a breeze as it is fully integrated with Philips SpeechMikes, professional grade dictation microphones. SpeechMikes are available with a classic 4-position slide switch design or push-button operation. Both models are available with optional programmable buttons for additional operations and a barcode scanner to make demographic input easy. All SpeechMike models include an integrated trackball for controlling the onscreen mouse with only your thumb.

  With the touch of a button, a user can automatically send out a dictation to an email address, FTP account or to a folder across the network with or without encryption. The choice is yours. Do you have multiple destinations your file may need to go to? No problem, with more than one destination, simply choose from a list the locations to which you'd like to send the work.

• Automatic File Mover – Move documents around automatically.
  GearPlayer allows you to automatically select dictation files from designated locations on your PC or FTP site across the internet and automatically move them to a file of your choice on your PC. GearPlayer will automatically move typed documents to a designated location on your PC or network for the work to be returned.

• Hands Free Dictation – Look, no hands.
  GearDictate allows anyone to dictate hands free with the use of a standard transcription foot pedal or a wide dictation foot pedal. Now you can control recording with your foot allowing your hands to be free for other purposes. Combine it with a gooseneck microphone to hang over a station or have it rest on a desk.

• Demographics – Include Patient ID, Case number and more, easily.
  GearDictate makes it easy to include file demographics with your dictation. A demographic window can optionally appear upon creating a new dictation prompting the user for specific information such as patient id, case number and more. Don't want to hand key the information? No problem, GearDictate also supports bar code scanning. You can scan information directly into the demographic window. All the data is automatically included with the file and sent with the audio to transcription. Transcriptionist can easily see the demographic data when using GearPlayer.

• Audio Templates – Never dictate the same notes again.
  Simply insert an audio template for any repetitive dictation. GearDictate, with its full dictation control also allows you to easily edit any audio template making it unique to case or patient. Don't re-dictate similar dictations over and over, use audio templates to improve your efficiency and reduce the chore of dictation.

• Security – Encryption and Audit Trail make you HIPAA ready.
  GearDictate offers its users unique-key 128-bit encryption. This means only people you specifically give your security key can open your dictation. This encryption process is completely optional, but if enabled will not change the way you dictate. After you set it up once, everything is built-in completely automatic.
  
  GearDictate's Audit Trail will tell you where every job went and when you sent it. It logs all file activity and is easily viewable in the options menu.

• File Naming Convention – Customize your file names.
  You tell GearDictate exactly how you want to name your files. Easily include demographic data such as author ID, patient ID, case number, work type and more. Simply go into the GearDictate options and select from the list of available fields what you would like to see included in the file name. When finished, click OK and restart GearDictate. You can easily change this convention at anytime.

• Auto Software Updates – Effortlessly run the latest version.
  GearDictate 4 offers Auto Update to keep your software running at it's best. It downloads and updates the GearDictate package with the latest software enhancements, bug fixes and documentation updates.

  Not sure if your hands free foot pedal has failed? GearDictate's built-in foot pedal testing utility makes it easy to tell if your foot pedal is working. Simply select the test from the options menu. Now you can determine if its software or hardware related.

  Notifications allow you to see the status of your dictation at a glance. With slide-up and audio notifications you can quickly see when you're recording, paused, rewinding and more.

• Bookmarks and Notes – Add text quickly to be passed to transcription.
  GearDictate features a new, advanced progress bar designed with ease of use in mind. At a glance, you can see and easily add notes and bookmarks for your reference. This information you enter is passed along to your transcriptionist, who with GearPlayer can see your notes and bookmarks. Use your notes for special instructions or for additional information that helps the transcriptionist but is not intended to be included in the document.
