Why Warm Keyboards?

The short answer:   It will make your hands warm and comfortable. It may also reduce the risk of hand injury.

The long answer:   Cold hands hurt: Cold hands mean the blood circulation is restricted. Your blood may not deliver sufficient oxygen and vital nutrients to the smallest blood arteries surrounding the median nerve. Repeatedly using your cold hands over a long period of time may not be healthy.

There is no serious research on the effects of the use of the WarmKeyBoard (There has been no warm keyboard until now.) We have known for a long time that workers in cold environments are more likely to sustain hand injury. There is no doubt that warmth is good for arthritis and carpal tunnel sufferers. Cold triggers the painful Raynaud's Syndrome, spasms of the blood vessels in the hand, sharp contracting of the arterioles and restricting blood flow to extremities. My personal experimentation with heated keyboards over the last ten years certainly has convinced me that they are beneficial to my hands.

Keyboards tend to make your hands cold:  Regular keyboards stay at room temperature, usually 10 to 20 degrees F colder than normal hand temperatures. The difference is even greater in some really cold offices. The keyboard will drain the heat from the finger tips continuously and prolonged use will lead to cold hands. A warm keyboard will transmit heat to your fingertips and keep your hands warm and comfortable.

Safe and Economical:  We use a safe low voltage heating system to warm the keys. A special 20V, 1.8 amp transformer coupled with an electronic control, heat the keys to about 100 degrees F. You may also switch to a lower temperature of about 85 degrees, if you prefer. When the room becomes warmer, you can switch off the heat completely. The system has been tested and approved for safety by the Underwriter's Laboratory in the United States and Canada.

Our heating system has no moving parts. It is extremely durable and operates in complete silence.

The energy consumption, when switched to high heating, is less than that of a 20 W light bulb in a room of 60 degrees F. A winter saving tip: Lower the thermostat in your office and use warmed keyboards.

This is the best purchase I have ever made. I have arthritis in my fingers and my fingertips get cold. I just received my keyboard yesterday and it is great! My fingers/hands are nice a toasty warm. My husband was even impressed as he was amazed that my fingers were so warm. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants their fingers/hands to stay nice a warm.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Warming Keyboard is a Must! - 3-10-2010

I love this keyboard! I am purchasing my second one in five years. My office has heat/AC that blows directly on my hands as I type and this has been a Godsend. I highly recommend this keyboard. My only complaint is that I've used it so much I typed the letters right off the of the keys!
