The GearPlayer program comes with two different foot pedal testing utilities that you can use with which ever pedal you are using. The utilities can be found in your Start Menu > Programs > GearPlayer > Tools.

The USB test utility: When opening this, when the system is correctly detecting the pedal, your physical presses on the pedal will be reflected on the screen in red.

The SERIAL test utility: You can get an error when first opening this because it is testing on Comm Port 1, change the port number selection until you do not get an error message. Then like above try pressing physically on the pedal and you will see the corresponding spot on your screen light up.

When using a SERIAL pedal it is better to restart your computer after you plug it in so your computer can detect it correctly.

USB doesn’t often require this unless you are using an older version of Windows® operating system.
