msmapi32.ocx error in GearXport on Windows 7
If you are experiencing the following error with GearXport when trying to send with email:
“Component ‘msmapi32.ocx’ or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.”
Then you will first need to ensure that you currently have Windows Mail currently installed.
To verify this, click on start, all programs, and look for Windows Mail.
If you do not currently have Windows Live Mail installed, then you will need to download and install Windows Live Mail for the email function of GearXport to properly function.
The download for Windows Live Mail can be found by doing a search from the downloads section of Microsoft’s website.
If you already have Windows Live Mail installed, but receive an error about msmapi32.ocx then follow the below instructions.
- Click on start, All programs, accessories, right click on command prompt and select run as administrator.
- In command prompt, type the following: regsvr32 msmapi32.ocx
- Then press enter.
