HASP error code 10: removal of AMD USB filter driver from registry
If you are experiencing a HASP Error Code 10 on a 64-bit system is it possible you may not have the option to remove the AMD USB filter driver from the Uninstall or Change a Program or from the ATI Catalyst Install Manager Component list. If this is the case then you can follow these instructions for manually removing the AMD USB filter driver from the registry.
Note: These steps are only for 64-bit systems that are experiencing an ”Error Code 10″ preventing the HASP key from working.
These steps should only be followed if you have already attempted to follow the steps from the article about uninstalling the AMD USB filter driver.

Manual Removal of AMD USB Filter Driver
This will walk you through the process of manually removing the AMD USB Filter Driver. This requires editing the Windows registry and should be used only if the other removal methods fail.
Step 1: Press Start and type “regedit” into the search box. Press Enter to open the Registry Editor

Step 2: In the registry editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} and locate the UpperFilters registry entry.

Step 3: Double click the UpperFilters registry entry to edit it. Remove the line that says “usbfilter” and click OK to save the changes.

Step 4: Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\usbfilter key in the Registry Editor. Please note that there may be several entries that are numbered such as usbfilter1 or usbfilter 3, check each key to see if the DisplayName value says “AMD USB Filter Driver”. Once you find the correct one, delete the usbfilter registry key.

Step 5: Reboot your computer. The AMD USB Filter Driver has been removed. Your SmartDongle should work correctly now.
