NaturallySpeaking QuickMacros is a tool for learning to create custom macros for Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 9 Professional, Medical and Legal editions. This booklet is intended for anyone who wants to learn how to create custom macros - fast! QuickMacros is 51 pages of screen shots, examples, sample scripts and easy-to-follow instructions so you can quickly create useful macros. It also includes the Vocabulary Editor, Text and Graphics, the Macro Recorder, Step-by-Step and Advanced Scripting.

In addition, there are four appendixes.

• Appendix A goes through each feature of the Command Browser and explains what they are for and how to use them.

What is a Macro? A macro is way to automate a function. Macros could be a single line of code or a whole series of scripts complied to automate a common task. For example, Today's Date. This macro is already built into Dragon NaturallySpeaking directing the software to place today's date into your document when it hears you say “Today's Date”.

How can creating new macro's help improve your workflow? This is particularly useful for a commonly used sentence or template. Instead of speaking the whole statement, you can create a short cut. For example, a commonly used statement may be “Macros are a great way to increase productivity!” Refer to the QuickMacro's booklet to guide you through the few quick steps to make a short cut.
