This is a Software Only
version, you must supply a Multi-Media Equipped
computer and a compatible PC microphone.
GearDictate is a product of years of work to
understand the most efficient ways to record dictated reports,
and forward them to the correct Transcriber. Now thanks to the
power found in the Personal Computer, you are able to build a
scalable, affordable, dictation system that will meet your needs
today as well as tomorrow.
In the quest for dictation and transcription
solutions that are robust and cost effective we feel that GearDictate
will provide your organization with the best of both. Because
of it's scalability you purchase only what you need. No need to
buy more than is needed to fulfill your needs. Read on and see
for yourself how this is accomplished.
GearDictate uses advanced software features to
provide you with the most functionality available today in our
cost conscience marketplace. This is accomplished by utilizing
PCs that are powerful, yet relatively inexpensive. In many cases
the required PC costs less than a dedicated dictate "station".
Not to mention that the PC is not "dedicated" to a single
task. It can provide other functionality for the user.
This Software Only version GearDictate
works by recording the dictator's voice onto the hard disk of
a Multimedia Equipped computer using a high quality microphone
that you provide. you can then use your computer's mouse and
keyboard to control all of the functions need for dictation.
They include Record, Rewind, Play and Fast Forward. You can even
use the Optional USB
foot control for these functions.
The voice recording is then digitized (converted
to a digital form) and stored on the computers hard disk. Demographic
information that is input by the author is stored along with
the recorded voice. The demographics may include information
about the author, subject, dictation location, time and date,
length and more. This information is then set along with the
file to the Transcriber. If the Transcriber is using a compatible
software application like GearPlayer these demographics are available
on screen.
When a dictation is completed the file can then
be encrypted with the included 128 bit encryption and then sent
to the Transcriber by way of Email, Local Area Network or across
the Internet with the confidence of knowing that the file is
safe from prying eyes. When the file reaches its destination
the Transcriber then uses GearPlayer to decrypt the file and
transcribe it. (NOTE: You must use GearPlayer to transcribe
files encrypted with GearDictate.) You can play back the non-encrypted
files in many transcription software applications as they are
recorded in widely used formats.
GearDictate gives you total control of how dictation
is saved, processed and sent to transcription. There are over
90 configuration options that provide you with more ways to accomplish
your tasks than any other product in its class.
If you would like more detail about each of
the functions discussed here please read/review the full help
file located under the "GearDictate
In Detail" tab.
