When first installing a Gear™ product, the drivers for the HASP key can fail to install correctly when the Windows® operating system tries to do this on its own. IF this is the case, please select your operating system for directions to install the drivers.

If you are unsure of which operating system, please go to Start, Control Panel, and double click on System. You may need to change to classic view if you do not see System. This will tell you what operating system you have installed.

Windows XP

Windows Vista or Windows 7 32-bit

Windows Vista or Windows 7 64-bit


Most issues with the HASP key can be resolved by unplugging it, restarting the computer, and plugging the back into the computer.  Sometimes the USB port can fail to detect it and this will encourage the computer to try again.
