It is highly recommended to plug your new USB headset directly into a USB port on the back of your computer. If you are experiencing issues with your USB headset, try these suggestions:
1. Disconnect the headset and reconnect it. If you are using a USB adapter (HUB) try to bypass it and connect the headset directly into the back of your PC.
2. Right click on ‘Computer’ (My computer’ for users prior to Windows Vista) and select ‘Manage.’
- On the left side click ‘Device Manager.’
- The right side will create a list; scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
- Expand the category and find ‘USB Root Hub.’
- Right click on this and select properties. Click the last tab named Power Management.
- Uncheck the box for “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” and press OK.
- Repeat this for each USB root Hub.
3. Navigate to your Control Panel.
- For Windows XP users, open ‘Sound and Audio Devices Properties.’ Select the ‘Audio’ tab and be sure your default playback device is set to your headset.
- For Windows Vista users, open ‘Sound.’ Be sure your headset has a green check mark for the default device.
