My foot pedal cuts out/stops working

These steps are for resolving an intermittent foot pedal issue. These suggestions apply to foot pedals that are dropping connection and that have stopped working altogether.

1. Disconnect the foot pedal and reconnect it to a different USB port. If you are using a USB adapter (HUB) try to bypass it and connect the headset directly into the back of your PC.

2. Right click on ‘Computer’ (My computer’ for users prior to Windows Vista) and select ‘Manage.’

  • On the left side click ‘Device Manager.’
  • The right side will create a list; scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  • Expand the category and find ‘USB Root Hub.’
  • Right click on this and select properties. Click the last tab named Power Management.
  • Uncheck the box for “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” and press OK.
  • Repeat this for each USB root Hub
  • Reboot the pc to allow the changes to take effect
3. Ensure that the foot pedal is plugged in, before you open the program that you are trying to use the pedal with.
