My HASP key intermittently cuts out/stops reading

There are two options available to resolve this issue.

  1. Disconnect the HASP key and reconnect it to a different USB port. If you are using a USB adapter (HUB) try to bypass it and connect the HASP directly into the back of your PC.
  2. Right-click on ‘Computer’ ('My Computer’ for users prior to Windows Vista/7) and select ‘Manage.’
  • On the left side click ‘Device Manager.’
  • The right side will create a list; scroll down to 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers'.
  • Expand the category and find ‘USB Root Hub’.
  • Right-click on this and select 'Properties'.  Click on the tab named 'Power Management'.
  • Uncheck the box for “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” and press OK.
  • Repeat this for each USB Root Hub
  • Reboot the pc when completed to allow the changes to take effect.
