The All Important Medical Transcription Resume

Resume creation is a vital part of getting a job in any field. When applying for medical transcription positions, this is the case as well. When a hiring employer sees your resume, it is their first impression of you and you want that to be a good one. There are specific ways to make your resume better. Your experience, education, and truth are all important pieces. Your resume is a quick look at you, where you have been and what you stand for.

It is obviously important to include any history you have in the field of medical transcription. If you are a new MT, list any experience in the medical field as a whole. If you have no experience in medicine at all, it is time to look at your training. Your training to be an MT is the only experience so you must list it. You can list the number of transcribed reports you worked on in training or how many hours your training coursework was. Focus solely on the knowledge and skills you have learned and acquired. Do not emphasize your lack of experience but show how much you DO know.

When listing your education and training, be sure to name your training program. You should put your graduation date on the resume as well. List the details of your skills such as the number of words you can type per minute and your low number of errors. You want to show how qualified you are based on your education.

Employers want to be able to feel that their employees are honest and trustworthy especially when they work from home where they are not under direct supervision.
